Garbage Truck Coloring Page
About This Coloring Page
For a great many small children the garbage truck is the event of the week. It is enormous, it is loud, it arrives on a schedule, and it does something visible — it lifts, tips and crushes. A page about the vehicle a child already runs to the window for does not need selling.
The drawing is mostly big simple shapes, which suits the age that loves it most. The cab is a box with two windows, the body is a bigger box with upright ribs, and the wheels are circles inside circles. The ribs along the side are the careful part: tall narrow rectangles, several in a row, each with two edges to stay between.
It is also an easy way into talking about the people who do a job for the whole street. Who drives it, where it goes next, what happens to the rubbish afterwards — a colouring page is a calm moment to ask, and children who watch the truck every week usually know more of the answers than expected.

How to Use This Coloring Page
- Start with the wheels. Circles inside circles: tyre, hub, centre. Three rings, three chances to follow a curve.
- Do the side ribs one at a time. Tall thin rectangles in a row. Staying between two close edges is handwriting control in disguise.
- Ask what day the truck comes. Days of the week mean very little to a three-year-old until one of them has a truck in it.
