A panda is built from circles: a round head, round ears, round eye patches, a round body and round paw pads. For a young child that makes it one of the friendliest animals to colour, because circles have no corners to overshoot, and one of the easiest to try drawing afterwards on the back of the sheet.
It is also the rare colouring page where the real animal needs only one crayon. A child who wants it to look like a panda has to work out which parts to fill and which to leave as paper — ears, eye patches, arms and legs dark, the rest untouched. That is a genuine observation task, and looking at a photo together first makes it a better one. A child who would rather have a rainbow panda is also correct.
The bamboo behind it is the fine-motor half. The stems are tall narrow columns divided into segments, and the leaves are small pointed shapes. Colouring one segment at a time, bottom to top, is patient work with a clear finish line on every stem.

How to Use This Coloring Page
- Look at a real panda first. A photo, for ten seconds. Then ask which parts are dark. They will get most of them.
- Find all the circles. Head, ears, eyes, paws. Counting them is shape recognition and counting in one go.
- Colour the bamboo one segment at a time. Bottom to top, stopping at each joint. Short bounded shapes are where control gets built.
