This is the densest page in the set and the closest thing here to the drawing that started this experiment. The fanned tail is dozens of long feathers, each one ending in its own patterned eye, and the body underneath is covered in small scalloped feathers. There is no empty space anywhere on it.
That density is not an obstacle for a child of nine or ten — it is the attraction. A page this full cannot be finished in one sitting, which makes it one of the few activities at that age with a legitimate reason to be left out on the table and returned to across several days. Sustained attention is the skill being practised here, and it only gets practised if the page is long enough to require it.
The eyes at the ends of the feathers are also the best colour lesson on the site. Each one has three or four rings, and a child who keeps the same colour in the same ring across every feather ends up with something that genuinely looks like a peacock. Doing it at random does not. The difference is visible immediately, so the lesson teaches itself.

How to Use This Coloring Page
- Colour the eyes first, all of them. Doing every feather's eye before touching the feathers themselves is what keeps the rings consistent across the fan.
- Keep one colour per ring. Blue centre, green ring, gold outer — whatever they choose, repeating it across every eye is what makes the finished tail read as one pattern.
- Expect it to take days. This is the longest sheet here. Leaving it out and coming back to it is the intended use, not a sign the child lost interest.
