A snowman is three circles, and the three circles are in size order. That makes this the rare colouring page that is also a Montessori lesson without anyone arranging it: big at the bottom, middle in the middle, small on top. Ask a child which ball is biggest and you have started size ordering with a picture they already wanted to colour.
The trick of a snowman page is that the snowman itself is mostly white, so the colour goes elsewhere — the hat, the scarf, the buttons, the carrot nose, the small tree beside it. Each of those is a small enclosed shape with an edge to respect, which is the fine-motor work, and the fact that the big shapes stay empty means the page never becomes a chore.
The snowflakes are the loose part. They can be left white, circled in blue, or coloured every colour in the box, and none of those is wrong. For a child who has not seen snow yet, this is a good way to introduce the word before the weather does; for one who has, it is the thing they built last winter.

How to Use This Coloring Page
- Point to the biggest ball, then the smallest. Three sizes, stacked in order. It is the clearest size-ordering picture a child will meet outside a classroom.
- Colour the clothes, leave the snow. Hat, scarf, buttons, nose. Small shapes with edges are where the fine-motor practice actually happens.
- Decide what the snowflakes are. White, blue or rainbow. Leaving them alone is a choice too, and it is worth saying so.
