Snow Angel Coloring Page

Ages 2-6 Printable PDF

About This Coloring Page

A snow angel is the one thing a child makes with their whole body, and the page draws the moment itself: a child in a puffy coat, hat and mittens lying flat in the snow, arms out and legs out, with the shape of the wings already swept into the snow around them.

The coat is the biggest closed shape on the page, wide open for a fat crayon, and the hat, mittens and boots are the small matching pairs for an older child who wants them to go together. The snowflakes are dots to colour or count, and the wings are two wide curves to follow with a finger first, the same sweep the arms make.

Ask them to show you how a snow angel is made, right there on the floor. Then ask how you get up without spoiling it, which is the real puzzle and the one every child has an answer for.

How to Use This Coloring Page

  1. Make one on the floor first. Arms up and down, legs out and in. Then look at the page and find the same shape in the snow.
  2. Fill the coat in one go. One big shape, one colour, all the way round. Hat and mittens next, matching or not.
  3. Count the snowflakes last. Touch each one. Or colour the wings in the snow a very light colour so they show.
