Submarine Coloring Page
About This Coloring Page
The submarine is the boat that goes under instead of across, and that is the whole reason a child wants one. On the page it is one long rounded shape with two round windows, a periscope poking up to look at the surface and a propeller at the back to push it along, with bubbles going up and two small fish watching it go by.
The hull is the page's one big closed shape, wide enough for a toddler to fill in a single colour, and the portholes are circles inside circles, the same shape as the wheels on every truck on the shelf. The bubbles are the counting, the seaweed is two wavy lines for whoever wants to practise them, and the fish are the small faces to do last.
Ask what the periscope is for and who is looking through it. Then ask what they can see down there, and the page turns into a story about the bottom of the sea, which is where most four-year-olds would rather be.

How to Use This Coloring Page
- Fill the hull first. One long rounded shape, one colour, all the way round. It already looks like a submarine before anything else.
- Portholes are circles inside circles. Colour the rim, then the glass. The small inside circle is the careful part.
- Count the bubbles on the way up. Follow them from the submarine to the top of the page. Then ask what the fish are thinking.
